Abstract:Traditionally,intermediate shock was considered as the kind of shock which is unevolutionary. A great interest in studying intermediate shock hasbeen shown since its structure was discovered in MHD simulation recently. Inthis paper, a review is made on its history and progress and the traditional evolution theory. Based on the evolution theory, the existance of intermediate shock is excluded.A brief introduction of the new achievements in that fieldand some of our comments are also presented here.
