Abstract:Mechanics of Materials is a core course for engineering majors such as mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and mechanics. The course emphasizes “strengthening the foundation, emphasizing practice, integrating simulation, and promoting innovation”. It constructs teaching resources and content to integrate engineering, advanced technology, and ideological and political education. The course aims to enhance students’ theoretical knowledge of mechanics and develop their ability to apply mechanics theories in solving practical engineering problems. Moreover, it shapes students’ correct world outlook, life perspectives, values, and career perspectives. The course integrates abstract mechanics concepts with the three-stage progressive course practice to cultivate students’ hands-on practical ability, spirit of exploration, and innovation ability. It introduces numerical simulation techniques into the classroom to develop students in utilizing numerical simulation software to solve mechanics problems. The classroom environment is designed to provide knowledge and foster problem-solving skills in engineering. It emphasizes innovative practices and uses numerical simulation software as a tool. Additionally, it prioritizes moral education and nurturing individuals.
