CONVICTION HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF LOUVERED FINS WITH VORTEX GENERATOR

Abstract
In order to improve the heat transfer performance of the air side of the louvered heat exchanger for new energy vehicle air conditioning, a new louvered fin structure with eddy current generator is proposed. Using numerical simulation methods to calculate the heat transfer factor j, resistance factor f, and comprehensive performance factor JF of the new louver fin and the traditional heat exchanger fin at different Reynolds numbers (Re), and the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the two groups of fins are comparatively analyzed. The results show that the heat transfer factor j increases by 2.9%~4.0%, the resistance factor f rises by 1.6%~2.0%, and the comprehensive factor JF improves by 2.2%~3.4% for the louver fins with vortex generator compared with the conventional fins at Re of 100~500, so the heat transfer performance of the heat exchanger with vortex generator is superior to that of the conventional louvered heat exchanger.
