DEVELOPMENT AND TEACHING APPLICATION OF VIRTUAL REALITY TECHNOLOGY FOR THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL FLOW FIELD
Abstract
This article develops a virtual reality system that dynamically displays the fine structures in three-dimensional (3D) flow fields. The virtual reality system includes a flow field generation module, which is used to calculate the instantaneous flow field of target scenarios through numerical simulation, and visualize the flow field data to obtain 3D flow field models of target scenarios; a storage module for storing 3D flow field models of target scenes; a display module, used to call the corresponding 3D flow field model according to the button instructions, and play the 3D flow field model. By using the virtual reality technology to display multiple models of 3D flow fields, the restoring function of 3D structures in complex flows is achieved in the field of fluid mechanics education and research, greatly stimulating students' pursuit of knowledge and exploration.
