Abstract
General mechanics knowledge (GMK) plays an important role in the construction of new engineering disciplines. In this paper, we introduced our understanding of the connotation of GMK. Based on this, combined with the new interdisciplinary course “Principle and practice of mechatronic system” offered to undergraduate students of all majors, we explored how to integrate GMK into the new engineering disciplines. We proposed that the content of course and practical case design should be driven by practical engineering problems and guided by the idea of using scientific methods to solve practical engineering problems, making it friendly, enjoyable, and useful. This approach promotes students’ digestion and absorption of GMK and guides them to deepen the interdisciplinary application of GMK. During course lecturing, it is necessary to “start slowly, think big and respond accordingly” in order to meet the requirements of “zero foundation, low threshold”, and to stimulate students' interest in actively learning interdisciplinary knowledge.
