VISCOSITY-INDUCED MODE BIFURCATIONS IN AN INFINITE CAPILLARY LIQUID CYLINDER

  • This paper points out that viscosity can induce mode splitting (or called bifurcation) of the type of one-to-infinity in an infinite capillary liquid cylinder This phenomenon is similar to the Zeeman and Stark effects in atomic physics, although of different importance.
